What's happening with TEEN SUMMIT now?


Kidz 4 Money’s TEEN SUMMIT 2008 marches on with several locations that raised the roof on teenage awareness in several life-changing topics. The positive energy that grows from each event has rippled into a wave that will splash onto the doors of Redan-Trotti library in Lithonia on Aug. 2 at 12pm. What was once an unknown attempt to bring peace to the usual summer madness has become a break through in generational communication, where each one teach one covers a spectrum of age groups. Teens, tweens, guest speakers, librarians, parents, and adults that have found their way into a summit rave about the rewards of understanding they take home. Kidz 4 Money has innovated teaching and communicating between the age groups. Simply said, it is just one big party.

July 18, Atlanta, the Mechanicsville library hosted their TEEN SUMMIT 2008 with a filled room of teens and tweens. Cynthia Harper of My Favorite Charity targeted the business and spirit of entrepreneurship, leaving teens enthralled. Attendees participated in colorful activities while assessing their dreams and planning their fulfilling future. The fun camouflaged the intensity of these young people who found their dreams obtainable and discovered new talents. Although this event had many themes, ‘Thinking Out of The Box’ and ‘Thinking Big was definitely two that attendees took home. Ms. Linda Jordan the library’s manager was instrumental in collecting this group of inner city intelligence from surrounding neighborhoods and organizations.

July 22, College Park held its TEEN SUMMIT 2008 event at its local library. Young people from ages 9 to 19 filled their 4-hour visit at the standing room only event with discussions, activities, lunch, presentations, prizes, and laughs. Parents could not tear themselves away from the insights of professionals such as Brenda Coleman of A-Z Literacy Consultants, Erika McKay a powerful motivational speaker, Kidz 4 Money’s GW Lawrence, and Lattice Hardwick the CEO of K4M as well as TEEN SUMMIT organizer. Library manager Benita McZorn was bursting with pride of the young brilliances and energy spewing from her teen and tween groups.

July 24, Atlanta, the Cleveland Avenue library conducted their TEEN SUMMIT 2008 before a large, active, and inquisitive group. Adult onlookers were impressively surprised of the socially conscious discussions initiated by this young group. All of the attendees enjoyed lunch, activities, prizes, and speakers author/motivational speaker Larry Jemison, Barbara Guillory of Level Blend Communications, Ante Williams of the Georgia Student Finance Commission, and Denise Dyer motivational speaker/publisher. Lattice Hardwick teamed with library manager Gloria Dennis to create an atmosphere of high energy, deep respect, and endless appreciation from all to all.
